The Short Version

What Is Creavitalis® Creatine?

Creavitalis® is a brand of creatine monohydrate made by Alzchem in Trostberg, Germany. Alzchem has made creatine for more than 30 years and launched Creavitalis® in 2023 for food and health products, micronized so it mixes easily into a drink. It is the same creatine monohydrate studied in the research. What the name adds is a known maker, a published standard and a seal you can check.

  • Every licensed product carries the Creavitalis® seal, with a six-character code you can enter at creavitalis.com to see which brand it belongs to.
  • The name covers the creatine when it leaves Germany, not the finished product. A good brand also tests the packed product and shows you the results.
  • ThriveOn Creatine is 5g of Creavitalis® per scoop and nothing else, and every lot is tested by an independent lab after packing, with the results published.

Who Makes Creavitalis®, and Where

Creavitalis® creatine is made by Alzchem Group AG at its site in Trostberg, Bavaria, in southern Germany. Alzchem has made creatine in Germany for more than 30 years, first for sports nutrition under its Creapure® brand.4 In the autumn of 2023 it launched Creavitalis® as a second brand, which it describes as “optimized creatine monohydrate for the food and health sectors.”1,4

Alzchem says the entire Creavitalis® manufacturing process takes place exclusively in Germany.1 That is the exception. By one industry estimate, about 84 percent of the world's creatine is made in China,9 and Alzchem describes itself as the only creatine producer outside Asia.5 Some of that creatine is made well. The difference is whether you can see who made yours, and Creavitalis® names its maker and carries a code you can check.

In Alzchem's words
Creavitalis® is “micronized for perfect solubility.”

What the Creavitalis® Name Tells You

When a label says it is made with Creavitalis®, here is what that name stands for:

  • A named maker and origin. Creatine made by Alzchem, with the entire manufacturing process in Germany.1,4
  • A purity standard. Alzchem's certificate for our source lot, 319842V, sets a purity floor of 99.9% and caps three by-products: creatinine, dicyandiamide (DCD) and dihydrotriazine (DHT). That lot measured 43 mg/kg creatinine against a limit of 100, 21 mg/kg DCD against 50, and DHT below 3 mg/kg.6
  • A fine grind. The standard grade is micronized and grit-free, so it stirs into water or any drink of choice more easily than a standard grind.1 Alzchem also sells a coarser Special Grade for capsules, so “micronized” is worth checking on the label.
  • A seal you can check. Licensed products carry the Creavitalis® seal with a six-character code inside it. Enter the code at creavitalis.com and the site tells you which brand it belongs to.2

What the Name Does Not Tell You

  • It is not a different creatine. Creavitalis® is creatine monohydrate, the same compound used in the research. It does not absorb differently or work differently. The brand is about who made it and to what standard.
  • It does not cover the finished product. Alzchem's certificate covers the creatine when it leaves Germany. Packing and storage happen at the brand's own facility, so a lab report on the packed product is the second thing to look for.
  • It does not change your results. Any pure creatine monohydrate at the same dose does the same job in the body. What a named maker buys you is confidence about what is in the scoop. Our creatine purity guide explains how to judge that for any brand.

Alzchem makes both, and its 2025 annual report calls Creapure® the “sister product” of Creavitalis®.5 Creapure® is the sports brand and Creavitalis® is the everyday brand. The difference you can see in a glass is the grind.

Does Creavitalis® Creatine Help the Brain?

Creatine is studied for the brain as well as for muscle. Alzchem lists brain function and cognitive performance among the areas where it calls the research promising, alongside muscle in aging, women's health and fatigue.1 Those studies test creatine monohydrate in general, so what they find applies to any pure creatine, not to one brand.

Creatine supports mental clarity.* The research is promising, and regulators are still weighing it: in 2024 the European Food Safety Authority reviewed creatine for a cognitive function claim and concluded that cause and effect had not yet been established.7 That is why we say “supports” and not more. For one recent trial in middle-aged and older adults, read does creatine work without exercise?

How to Check That Your Creatine Is Really Creavitalis®

  1. Find the seal. A licensed product prints the Creavitalis® seal on its label. The six-character code sits inside the seal, in its bottom-left corner.2
  2. Enter the code at creavitalis.com. Alzchem's site shows which brand the code belongs to. If it names a different brand, or nothing, ask the seller.2
  3. Look the brand up. Alzchem's product finder lists every licensed brand.2 A brand that says “Creavitalis®” but is not listed there should be able to explain why.
  4. Ask for the finished-product results. The seal covers the creatine itself. A lab report for your lot number shows what reached the product you bought. Our four at-home checks help with the rest.

Which Brands Use Creavitalis®?

Alzchem's product finder at creavitalis.com lists the brands licensed to use Creavitalis®: about 55 at the time of writing, from several countries including the US.2 It is the quickest way to confirm a brand before you buy. ThriveOn Creatine is listed there.

Why ThriveOn Creatine Uses Creavitalis®

We wanted a creatine people would take every day: a named maker, made in Germany, fine enough to stir into water or any drink of choice, and documented lot by lot. That is the job Alzchem developed Creavitalis® for.

ThriveOn Creatine is one ingredient: 5g of Creavitalis® creatine monohydrate per scoop, micronized to 250 mesh (about 60 microns),8 with no flavors or fillers. It is creatine made in Germany, packaged in the USA in an NSF GMP-certified facility. In March 2025, our co-founder Andrew O'Hare visited Alzchem in Bavaria. Every label carries the Creavitalis® seal with our code, 25TE17, and Alzchem lists ThriveOn Creatine among its licensed brands.2

How every lot is tested
  1. At the source. Alzchem tests every lot of Creavitalis® in Germany for purity, creatinine, DCD and DHT, and issues its own certificate.
  2. On arrival. Tested at our packer in the USA, an NSF GMP-certified facility.
  3. Independent lab. A sample of the packed product goes to Analytical Resource Laboratories (ARL) in Utah, a lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, for heavy metals, microbes and gluten.
11 of 11 passedLot 2609030, tested by ARL after packing, with lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury all below the detection limit. Alzchem's certificate for representative lot 319842V is on the same results page.

Creavitalis® is a brand of creatine monohydrate made by Alzchem in Trostberg, Germany. Alzchem launched it in 2023 for food and health products, as a micronized powder that mixes easily into a drink.1,4 It is the same creatine monohydrate used in the research, from a maker that has produced creatine for more than 30 years.

Is Creavitalis® creatine monohydrate?

Yes. Creavitalis® is creatine monohydrate, the same compound with the same chemical identity as any other creatine monohydrate. The name tells you who made it and to what standard. It is not a new form of creatine and it does not work differently in the body.

Who makes Creavitalis®?

Alzchem Group AG, a German chemical company based in Trostberg, Bavaria. Alzchem also makes Creapure®, its sports creatine, and calls the two “sister” products.5

Where is Creavitalis® made?

In Germany. Alzchem says the entire Creavitalis® manufacturing process takes place exclusively in Germany, at its Trostberg site.1 Brands then pack it themselves: ThriveOn Creatine is creatine made in Germany, packaged in the USA.

Is Creavitalis® made in China?

No. Alzchem makes Creavitalis® only in Germany.1 That sets it apart from most creatine: by one industry estimate, about 84 percent of the world's supply is made in China.9 Our guide to German-made vs Chinese creatine explains how to tell where any creatine is made.

Is Creavitalis® micronized?

The standard grade is. Alzchem says Creavitalis® is “micronized for perfect solubility.”1 It also sells a coarser Special Grade for capsules, which is not micronized, so look for the word on the label. ThriveOn Creatine is micronized to 250 mesh, about 60 microns, finer than a human hair.8

What does the Creavitalis® seal mean?

The seal shows that a brand is licensed by Alzchem to use Creavitalis®. Each licensed product carries a six-character code inside the seal, in its bottom-left corner.2 Enter that code at creavitalis.com to see which brand it belongs to. Ours is 25TE17.

How do I know if a product really uses Creavitalis®?

Check three things: the seal on the label, the code inside it at creavitalis.com, and the brand's listing in Alzchem's product finder.2 Then ask for a lab report on the finished product, because the seal covers the creatine when it leaves Germany, not what happens after. Our four at-home checks cover the rest.

How much Creavitalis® creatine should I take?

Alzchem recommends 3 to 5g of creatine a day.1 One scoop of ThriveOn Creatine is 5g. If you take medication, are pregnant or have a kidney condition, check with your doctor first. Our guide to creatine safety covers the common questions.
